Is It Halal? - Disclaimer

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Halal (Arabic:حلال, ḥalāl; means lawful or legal) is a term designating any object or an action which is permissible to use or engage in, according to Islamic law. Halal food must be free from forbidden items including pork and all its products; animals improperly slaughtered; alcoholic drinks, including all forms of intoxicants; carnivorous animals; birds of prey; and any food contaminated with any of these products.

At HalalFoodies.com we will rely on sources such as zabihah.com and ultimately the verbal assurances of restaurant staff members to verify the halal status of a particular restaurant.  We, as Muslims, trust our brothers and sisters if they tell us their food is halal.  However, we understand that there are different levels of tolerance regarding this manner and everyone has the right to request written halal verification from any establishment.

Additionally, posts about non-halal establishments may not take into account the use of alcohol in food preparation. We will do our best to provide as much information as we can regarding this manner, but request all readers to use their own discretion.  We encourage all readers to share their findings regarding the halal status of any establishment posted on HalalFoodies.com.

Unless otherwise noted, we are not associated with any of the establishments or products reviewed on this site. It is our mission to provide unbiased, truthful reviews and commentary. We are not under any obligation to say anything specific, positive or negative, about any establishment or product.

We also do not have any affiliation with zabihah.com or any other halal food websites.
